Julia Alderman

Julia is passionate about guiding women to health through combining her skills as a nutritional therapist, yoga teacher and reiki practitioner. She has a special interest in supporting hormonal balance, fertility, pregnancy and the post-natal period.

Julia has studied yoga and meditation for twenty years and has qualifications in a range of disciplines. Her teaching began with Iyengar yoga (training at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in Maida Vale), which has given her a deep understanding of classical postures and how to adapt sequences to suit the needs of each individual. She has since qualified in Well Woman’s Yoga, which is designed to support hormonal balance and fertility, Pregnancy Yoga and Post-Natal Yoga. Her sessions include gentle movement, breathing exercises, guided meditations, mantra and mudras.

As a mother herself Julia has experienced the firsthand benefits of yoga during pregnancy to support wellbeing and natural childbirth, as well as the profound nourishment it provides in the early days of being a new mother.

Julia is also a nutritional therapist with a decade of clinical experience. She has an honours degree in biology and went on to study at nutrition at The Institute for Optimum Nutrition. She combines naturopathic principles with functional medicine and guides clients to discover how they can make lasting changes to their diet and health. She specialises in many areas of women’s health including amenorrhea, PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, fertility, pregnancy and post-natal resilience, as well as fatigue, stress and mindful eating. Her approach includes dietary recommendations, functional tests, supplements and cleansing techniques.

She is also a reiki practitioner, having completed her reiki masters and holy fire training in the lineage of Dr Mikao Usui. She offers reiki to women as a technique that enables deep relaxation to accelerate natural re-balancing. This complements the work that she does using yoga and nutrition.

Julia is a fully qualified practitioner and a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.
